2011 Safe Holiday
Each year, TEAM Georgia unites businesses, individuals, the public safety community and the hospitality industry for the Safe Holiday Campaign, encouraging safety and sobriety on Georgia's roadways during the holiday season.
Now in its seventeenth year, the Safe Holiday public education effort is a communitywide intervention to stop impaired driving.
Safe Holiday reaches tens of thousands of Georgia businesses, restaurateurs, bar owners, and private hosts with suggestions to make celebrations safe, fun and memorable. By providing incentives for designated drivers, information on Georgia's DUI laws and free ride homes from Checker Cab and Budweiser/AAA "Tow to Go," Safe Holiday helps make sober driving the clear choice.
The likelihood of being killed in a motor vehicle crash is six times higher in crashes where a driver is impaired. And the parties and increased traffic that accompany the holiday season make this a critical time to drive safely.
